Our Favourite White Benjamin Moore Paint Colours
White isn’t just white, there are hundreds of different shades of white to choose from. The shade of white you pick can make a big difference in the overall feel of a space. “What colour white should I pick” is one of the most frequently asked questions we hear - so, here are our favourite white paint colours by Benjamin Moore.
If you’re looking for a neutral white, our top choice is always CHANTILLY LACE. This is the perfect white, as it has very little undertones and is as close to pure white as possible. Other neutral whites to consider are SUPER WHITE and WHITE HERON.
If you’re looking for a warmer white, our go to is usually SWISS COFFEE. This is a beautiful, soft white with enough warmth to cozy up any space. Other popular warm whites are, WHITE DOVE and SIMPLY WHITE. Warmer whites typically have undertones of yellow, orange or red.
If you’re looking for a cooler white, we typically recommend DECORATOR’S WHITE. This cooler white paint creates a crisp and clean feel to any space. Other favourite cooler whites are, PAPER WHITE and SNOW WHITE. Cooler whites will usually show undertones of green, blue or purple.
If you’re painting your walls white as well as your trim, we recommend that you do a matte finish for your walls and then a satin finish in the same colour for trim and mouldings. If you want to do a different colour of white for the trim that will stand out a bit from a different white wall colour, we recommend SUPER WHITE.
One other important thing to consider when choosing not just a white paint, but any colour are external factors. Things that can affect overall undertones of a paint are furniture, flooring and exterior elements like foliage, fences, and other homes next door etc. For example, foliage, depending on the season can cast different tones through your windows onto your walls like green or orange and red. So, choosing a paint with specific undertones in mind can help to control these colour casts in your rooms.
