A Classic and Timeless Nursery Design

Having a comfortable and welcoming spot to spend time with your sweet new baby is so important. The soothing tones of this nursery are sure to provide a tranquil retreat for mom (or dad) and baby.

The design for this space was inspired from this sweet plaid peel and stick wallpaper. The colours seemed perfect for a little baby boy. Although this is a space for a little one, we wanted it to have a masculine feel and be a space he can grow with.

The star of this space (besides the new baby, of course) is the Wallpaper. It is a peel and stick product, and we must say it was a dream to work with. It was applied effortlessly and can be peeled back for adjustments during installs as needed and reapplied with no issues. We paired the wallpaper with a simple vertical shiplap wall, in the colour Copley Gray by Benjamin Moore.

We also wanted to create a bit of a theme with this nursery, and we decided on bunnies. We were able to keep the theme very neutral by combining the white Bunny Lamp, the grey Stuffed Bunny, along with the bunny themed Mobile, Quilt, Crib Sheet and Change Pad Cover.

Adding functionality and durability to a nursey that will grow with the baby was also incredibly important during the design process. We wanted to select products that would stand the test of time. We went with a solid wood Dresser, a quality built Crib that can be converted to a toddler bed and a washable Rug that will hold up to all the spills that come along with a baby/toddler.

Storage is also a concern when considering all the “things” that come along with having a baby. The Dresser itself has deep oversized drawers, great for clothing storage and we added a stalkable wicker basket tower to store the diapers and wipes. There will be plenty of outfit changes early on, so we incorporated an adorable wicker bear laundry hamper with lid to keep the dirty laundry hidden until laundry day.

Any room wouldn’t be complete without a few vintage items. We were able to do that by incorporating a beautiful vintage rocking chair and accordion wall hanger, which can be used to display many adorable items.

Overall, this is a charming, neutral and calming space that we are sure will be the home of many sweet (and sleepless) memories.
